Disposable Bacterial/Viral Filters

Bacterial filters are the most practical and cost-effective way of ensuring that there is no risk of cross-infection between patients during spirometry testing. They have a maximum efficiency in trapping and removing up to 99.99% of bacteria and viruses.

Tests performed by Nelson Laboratories in the USA found the filters to be over 99.99% efficient in capturing bacterial and viral contaminants. Tests performed by the Health Protection Agency in England found the filters to capture over 99.4% of aerosol borne micro-organism spores of two different types tested.
